Canonical splice junctions (GT-AG, GC-AG and AT-AC) are considered to be more likely than other splice junction patterns.

Splice patterns are categorized into the following 3 classes:

  • CanonicalPatter[Major]: GT-AG
  • CanonicalPatter[Minor]: GC-AG and AT-AC
  • NonCanonicalPatter: all other detected di-nucleotides
