What is the OmicsofGenCode.V33 Gene Model?

OmicsoftGenCode.V33 is used, along with Human.B38, for OmicSoft Lands that end with "B38_GC33", such as GTEx_B38_GC33. It uses the GenCode.V33 Basic annotation, including GenCode's protein-coding, long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs), and mitochondrial genes. The only modification to the standard GenCode Basic model is that we use miRBase21 annotation for microRNAs.

For annotating mutations in Lands, we use the Omicsoft GenCode Uniprot gene model, which assigns the longest transcript model that encodes a protein matching Uniprot "canonical protein" sequences as the "canonical' transcript.

If users wish to use the Comprehensive Gencode.V33 gene annotations, it can be found in OmicSoft Studio and the OmicSoft Genome Browser as "GenCode.V33", available for genome build Human.B38.

It uses the GenCode.V24 Basic annotation, including GenCode's protein-coding, long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs), and mitochondrial genes.
