Get out of memory error
From Array Suite Wiki
Short term workaround
In ArrayStudio, if you opened a view from a data object, the data object is loaded to the memory. The size of the osobj file is the memory size it will take. If you open multiple views from multiple data objects, all of these data objects are loaded into memory. To save memory, you should have a behavior of closing unnecessary views.
If you are in the stage that cannot open a project because it was saved in a status with multiple data object opened/loaded. You can create a new empty project, download/get the data object (.osobj file). For server project, you can find the osobj in your server project folder:
Then add data object to the new empty project:
You should be able to view them if there is enough memory left for the size of the data object.
Long term solution
- If the computer is based on 64-bit, this error usually suggests that the operation uses too much memory than the physical memory. Please contact email@example.com and report the exact case. Note: this usually won’t happen in practice unless the user tries to test the limit of Array Studio or tries to do more alignment jobs than the computer can handle.
- If the computer is based on 32-bit but has <=2GB physical memory, then usually the available memory that Array Studio can use is around 800-900MB. If the user gets out of memory error when the memory usage is less than 700-800MB, it was considered unusual. The following Microsoft fix might be able to fix the issue:
- If the computer is based on 32 bit but has >=3GB physical memory, then we strongly recommend that user upgrade to 3GB mode. To enable the 3GB switch on Windows Vista™ or Windows 7:
